The first step to removing coffee and tea stains from a pencil skirt is to pre-treat the stain. To do this, fill a sink or bowl with cold water and add a scoop of laundry detergent and two tablespoons of white vinegar. Then, soak the stained area in this solution for at least one hour. This will help break down any oils or tannins that are present in coffee and tea, making it easier to remove.
After the soaked area has been sitting for an hour, rinse it out with cold water and then use a scrub brush to gently scrub the stain. Be sure to only use circular motions and avoid rubbing the fabric harshly. Once you have gently scrubbed the area, rinse skirt out with cold water until all traces of the detergent and vinegar have been removed.
The last step for removing coffee and tea stains is to launder the pencil skirt as you normally would. Be sure to follow the care instructions on the tag and use the recommended temperature setting for fabric type. After laundering, allow the skirt to air dry and inspect it to make sure the stain has been completely removed. If stain is still present, repeat Steps 1-3 until it has been completely removed.
