Coffee and tea stains can be a pesky problem, especially when they end up on your favourite midi dress. Fortunately, there are some effective solutions to help you get rid of those unsightly specks. With the right process and product, you'll have your midi dress looking as good as new in no time!
Before you start washing the garment, pre-treat stain using a stain remover specifically designed for coffee and tea stains. If you don't have a product like this handy, you can make your own with dish detergent, white vinegar, and water. Place the stained area in the solution and rub gently with a dry cloth until the stain starts to lift. Let it soak for about 10 minutes before rinsing with cool water.
Once you've pre-treated stain, fill a basin or bathtub with cold water and add a few drops of gentle detergent. Place the dress in the tub and let it soak for about 15 minutes. Gently rub the surface of the dress in the tub to loosen the stain. Make sure not to scrub or wring the fabric.
After the pre-treatment and soaking, take dress out of the tub and run it through a wash cycle using mild detergent and cold water. You can also use a delicate detergent if needed. Once the wash cycle is done, place the dress in a washing machine with cold water and a few drops of gentle detergent. Run a rinse cycle and then hang the dress up to dry. Avoid using the dryer since it could set the stain.
If the stain has not been completely removed, you may need to follow up with spot cleaning. This involves using a small amount of detergent directly on the stained area and rubbing it into fabric using a soft brush or cloth. Wait a few minutes and then rinse. Repeat the process if necessary until the stain is gone.
