If you’ve noticed that your jewelry has stained from having contact with coffee or tea, don’t despair. You’ll be pleased to know that these challenging discolorations can be removed with relative ease.
Before attempting to clean the stains, you’ll need to gather together the supplies needed for this task. The necessary items include:
Next, mix a mild detergent in a small bowl of warm water. Soften the bristles of the toothbrush in the solution before use.
Once the supplies have been gathered and the cleaning solution is prepared, dip the toothbrush into the mixture and gently scrub the jewelry to remove coffee or tea stains. Do this carefully with circular motions. Don’t forget to clean the back of the jewelry too as this is often neglected and can cause the same types of staining.
After the jewelry is cleaned, rinse it in warm water with a soft cloth. This will remove all detergent and residue.
As a final step, polish jewelry using a soft cloth. This will restore shine that was lost from the cleaning process.
If desired, you can also use baking soda to strengthen the brightness of the piece. Simply dust the jewelry with baking soda before and after the cleaning process. This step is optional, but it can be beneficial to bring out the natural luster in the jewelry.
After following these simple steps, you’ll have successfully removed the coffee and tea stains from your jewelry. Now your favorite pieces will be looking just like new – ready to be worn and enjoyed once again.
