Step 1: Blot the Stain

Start by using a soft cloth or paper towel to blot up excess liquid from the stain. You don't want to rub the stain as that may cause it to spread.

Step 2: Apply a Cleaning Solution

Once you've blotted away excess liquid, apply a cleaning solution. Make sure to check the label of your handbag or purse and go with the specified cleaning instructions. Unlabeled fabrics can usually be spot-cleaned with a mixture of one teaspoon of dish washing detergent mixed with one cup of water. Use a cloth to apply the solution onto the stain and leave for five minutes.

Step 3: Rinse the Area

Once the cleaning solution has had a chance to absorb into the fabric, take a clean cloth dipped in lukewarm water and rinse the area. If stain remains after this step, you may need to repeat steps 2 and 3 until the stain is gone.

Step 4: Air Dry

Finally, let handbag air dry completely. Once it's dried, you may want to apply a leather or fabric protector to prevent future stains from sticking.

And that's it! With these four easy steps, you can easily clean coffee and tea stains off of your favorite handbag or purse.
