Treat Fresh Stains Immediately

The first step in cleaning the stains is to treat them immediately before they set. To do this, take a cloth or paper towel and lightly dab and press the stain. Don't rub the stain or you could damage the fila fabric. By pressing it, you absorb some of the liquid and help prevent it from spreading. Some people suggest using cool water and white vinegar to help remove some of the stain. This should only be done if the stain is fresh.

Blot with a Mild Detergent

Once you've treated the stain, the next step is to use a mild detergent to gently blot the affected area. Start on the outside of the stain and work your way in to prevent it from spreading further. Be careful not to scrub too hard or use too much pressure, as you could damage the fabric of fila.

Rinse with Cool Water

Once the detergent has been absorbed, rinse the area with cool water to remove any leftover residue. Be sure to rinse thoroughly to make sure all of the detergent is gone. Once the area is rinsed, let it air dry.

Allow to Air Dry

It's important to let the fabric air dry completely before wearing the shoes or putting them away. Using a hair dryer or other device to speed up the process could cause more damage than good. Once the shoes are dry, you can inspect the area to see if stain is still visible. If it is, you may need to repeat these steps until the stain is fully removed.
