Coffee and tea spills can leave dark, ugly stains on canvas shoes, especially when not treated properly. Before you give up on your favorite espadrilles, try these easy techniques to get rid of those unwanted stains.

Method 1: Using Club Soda

Club soda is an inexpensive, natural solution for removing coffee and tea stains from fabric:

  • Using a clean cloth, gently dab stained area with club soda to dampen it.
  • Allow the club soda to sit on stain for several minutes.
  • Using a soft bristled brush, scrub the area until the stain is removed.
  • Rinse the area with clean, cold water.
  • Allow the shoe to air dry completely.

Method 2: Using Dish Soap

If the club soda method doesn't work, you can try using a dish soap solution:

  • Mix together equal parts liquid dish soap and cold water.
  • Using a clean cloth, gently dab the stain with the mixture.
  • Allow the solution to sit on the stain for a few minutes.
  • Using a soft bristled brush, gently scrub the area until the stain is gone.
  • Rinse the area with clean, cold water.
  • Allow shoe to air dry completely.

Method 3: Using Baking Soda and Vinegar

Baking soda and vinegar can also work wonders on coffee and tea stains:

  • Mix together equal parts baking soda and white vinegar.
  • Using a soft bristled brush, scrub the mixture onto the stained area.
  • Allow solution to sit on the stain for several minutes.
  • Using a clean cloth, dab the area with cold water to rinse away the solution.
  • Allow the shoe to air dry completely.

By following these simple tips, you'll ensure that your beloved espadrilles stay looking their best!
