Start by identifying where stain is located on the jacket, then pretreat the area with a small amount of detergent. To do this, apply a few drops of detergent to stained area and gently rub it into the fabric with your fingertips. Allow the detergent to sit on the stain for at least 15 minutes before proceeding to the next step.
Soak the jacket in cold water for 15 minutes. This will help to dissolve the stain so that it can be removed more easily.
Mix a detergent paste using 1 part detergent and one part warm water. Apply the paste to the stained area and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Then, use a clean cloth to gently scrub the stain until it is completely removed.
Once the stain is removed, rinse the area with cold water until all traces of the detergent paste are gone. Then pat the area dry with a clean cloth.
After patting the area dry, leave jacket to air dry in a well-ventilated area. Do not put it in the dryer, as this could cause the fabric to shrink or become damaged.
