Stains on double georgette don't have to be permanent fixtures. With the right supplies and a little bit of know-how, you can have your fabric looking good as new in no time. Here's how to get rid of stubborn coffee and tea stains on double georgette:
The first step is to gently blot the stain with a cloth or paper towel to soak up as much of the liquid as possible. Try not to rub fabric too hard, as this can make the stain worse. Once liquid has been blotted up, you're ready to move on to the next step.
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water together in a bowl. Dip a clean cloth in the solution and dab it over the stained area. Gently massage the cloth into the stain to help lift it out. Let the pre-treatment sit for 5 minutes before moving on.
Fill a sink or basin with lukewarm water and add a mild detergent. Soak the fabric in the solution for about 30 minutes. Agitate the fabric by gently kneading it to help the detergent dissolve the stain. Once done, rinse the fabric with lukewarm water and let it air dry. Do not put it in the dryer once it's been washed.
Once the fabric is dry, inspect it closely to make sure that the stain has been completely removed. If the stain is still visible, repeat Steps 2 and 3 until it's gone.
