One popular way to remove tea and coffee stains is to use a mixture of baking soda and lemon. Start by making a paste with the baking soda and enough fresh lemon juice until you reach your desired consistency. Next, spread the paste evenly on the cutting board and allow it to sit for about 10 minutes, then use a soft sponge or brush to gently scrub the surface. Rinse off the paste, and any remaining stains should be gone.
White vinegar is another highly effective stain remover for cutting boards. Pour white vinegar in a shallow container and fully submerge the cutting board in the vinegar. Allow board to soak for 10 to 15 minutes, then take it out and scrub with a soft brush. Rinse the board and any remaining tea and coffee stains should be gone.
Hydrogen peroxide is another great option for removing tea and coffee stains from cutting boards. Start by pouring the hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle and liberally apply it to the surface. Allow peroxide to sit for a few minutes, then scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Rinse board with warm water and any remaining stains should be gone.
The best way to keep cutting boards looking clean and new is to prevent further staining. After each use, always rinse the board and wipe it down with a damp cloth. It's also beneficial to apply mineral oil to the board periodically to help protect against staining and preserve its surface. Finally, avoid leaving your cutting board in standing water or near a heat source, as it can quickly damage the surface.
