Cotton lawn is a lightweight fabric that is perfect for crafting dresses, shirts, and other clothing items. However, it can easily get stained by coffee and tea. Fortunately, there are several ways you can take to remove coffee and tea stains from cotton lawn and keep your fabrics looking like new.
When a coffee or tea stain appears on your cotton lawn garments, act quickly. Start by blotting the stained area with a dry, white cloth. This will help remove the excess liquid and prevent the stain from spreading. Do not rub the stain, as this will only cause it to become more difficult to remove.
Once you've blotted the excess liquid, use a clean cloth or sponge to pretreat the stain with white vinegar. Apply the vinegar directly to the stain and let it sit for a few minutes. This will help dissolve tannins in the coffee or tea stain and make it easier to remove.
After pretreating with vinegar, add a small amount of detergent to the stained area and gently rub it in. Then place the garment in washing machine and wash it on the warmest setting possible. Once the cycle has finished, check the garment to make sure stain has been removed. If not, repeat the previous steps and then launder again.
Once your garment has been washed, hang it to air dry. Do not put the garment in dryer, as the heat can cause the stain to set in and make it much harder to remove.
Never do laundry again. Save time for things you ❤️
