Coffee and tea are two of most common stains which can occur on cotton denim. With the high levels of tannin in these beverages, it’s no surprise that they can leave long-lasting marks on your favorite pair of jeans. Luckily, there are some easy steps to take to get rid of those pesky stains.

What You'll Need:

  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Cloth or sponge
  • Cold water

Instructions:

  1. Start by soaking a cloth or sponge in a mixture of dish soap and cold water.
  2. Gently rub the stained areas of denim with the soapy cloth or sponge.
  3. Rinse the denim with more cold water. Make sure all traces of the soap have been removed.
  4. Mix together equal parts white vinegar and cold water. Dip a cloth or sponge into the mixture and dab onto the stained areas.
  5. Once the vinegar solution has worked its way in, rinse the denim with more cold water.
  6. If the stain persists, cover the area with baking soda and let it sit for 10 minutes and then rinse with cold water.
  7. Repeat this process until stain is completely gone.

That’s it! With these basic steps, you’re sure to be able to get rid of any coffee or tea stains from cotton denim quickly and easily.
