Step 1: Blot the Stain

The first step is to blot up as much of the spilled beverage as possible. Make sure to grab a paper towel or lint-free cloth and press gently from the outside edges of stain inward. Be careful not to rub as this could spread the stain further.

Step 2: Pretreat with a Mild Detergent

You can use a mild laundry detergent that is free of peroxide or bleach to pretreat the stain. Place the affected area under warm, running water and apply a small amount of detergent directly onto the stain. If you don't have detergent, a mixture of liquid dish soap and white vinegar can also work. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Step 3: Consider Professional Services

If blotting and pretreating does not fully remove the stain, then you may want to consider taking your garment to a professional cleaner. It's important to note that some stains are unable to be removed, even by a professional cleaner. In this case, it's best to accept the stain or cover it with fabric patches or appliques.
