Before you try to remove the stain from your clogs, it is important to understand type of fabric they are made of. Different fabrics respond differently to cleaning products and techniques. Leather, suede, and cotton can all be safely cleaned with household products. However, some materials such as canvas and nylon may require more specialized treatment.
Once you have identified the fabric that your clogs are made of, the first step is to clean any excess liquid off with a damp cloth. If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can also use a mild detergent or rubbing alcohol to break down the stain.
Once you have removed as much of liquid as possible, you can use a brush or sponge to gently scrub the stain with a mixture of warm water and laundry detergent. Let the solution sit for a few minutes before rinsing off with a damp cloth. Be sure to use gentle circular motions while scrubbing the stains, as vigorous scrubbing can cause permanent damage to the fabric.
If the stain does not come out completely, you can try using an enzyme-based cleaner designed specifically for cleaning fabrics. For stubborn stains, you may need to repeat the cleaning process several times. Once the stain is gone, air dry clogs away from direct sunlight.
By following these steps you should be able to get rid of those pesky coffee and tea stains from your clogs. So go ahead and enjoy your favorite beverage without fear of staining your shoes!
