Pre-Treating Stain

The best way to remove a stain from a fabric is to pre-treat it as soon as possible. To make a pre-treating solution, mix 2 parts water with 1 part dish soap. Gently dab the solution onto the stain with a cotton ball, taking care not to rub or scrub fabric too hard.

Hand Washing the Fabric

After pre-treating the stain, you’ll need to hand-wash the fabric with cold water. Fill a bucket or sink with cold water and add a few drops of mild detergent or laundry soap. Submerge the garment and gently swish it around in soapy water, being careful not to agitate or scrub the fabric. Allow the garment to soak for about 15 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.

Drying the Garment

After hand-washing and rinsing the garment, lay it on a flat surface and press down on the stained area with a dry towel or cloth to absorb the moisture. Finally, hang the garment up to dry in a shaded area away from direct sunlight.

Preventing Future Stains

The best way to avoid coffee and tea stains on chiffon georgette is to avoid spilling drinks like tea and coffee in the first place. But if spills do occur, be sure to act quickly by following the steps above to remove the stain.
