How to Remove Coffee or Tea Stains from Chico Clothes
- Gently blot the stain with a dry, white cloth.
- Mix one teaspoon of liquid detergent with one cup of lukewarm water. Test the mixture on a small, unnoticeable area of fabric to make sure that it does not cause discoloration.
- If mixture does not cause discoloration, apply it directly over the stain and use an old toothbrush to gently rub the stained area in a circular motion.
- Rinse the fabric thoroughly and repeat this process as needed.
- If necessary, mix one teaspoon of borax powder, 1/4 cup of lemon juice, 1/4 cup of white vinegar and one cup of lukewarm water. Apply mixture directly over the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Rinse the fabric with cold water and then launder it in washing machine according to the care instructions located on the garment.
- If the stain is still present after laundering, mix one tablespoon of oxygen-based bleach with two cups of lukewarm water. Apply the mixture over stain and let it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing the garment with cold water.
Tips and Warnings
- Always read the care label on the garment before attempting to remove any stains.
- If the garment is dry-clean only, have the garment professionally cleaned.
