Brocaes are delicate fabrics that require special care. Luckily, there are ways to remove coffee and tea stains without damaging the integrity of fabric.

Required Materials

  • White cloths
  • Distilled white vinegar
  • Warm water
  • Gentle detergent
  • Stain remover (optional)

Step 1: Blot Up Excess Liquid

Using a white cloth, blot up as much of the spilled coffee or tea as possible. Don’t scrub the stain, as this may spread it further.

Step 2: Moisten Stain With Clean White Cloth

Moisten a clean white cloth with distilled white vinegar, then press it onto the stained area. Let it sit for 15 minutes before moving on to next step.

Step 3: Rinse With Warm Water

Rinse affected area with a cloth dampened with warm water. Blot the area with a clean white cloth to help remove any remaining residue.

Step 4: Apply Detergent

Mix a mild liquid detergent with warm water and apply it to a clean white cloth. Gently rub the cloth over the area; if necessary, use a brush to scrub it.

Step 5: Rinse Again With Plain Water

Rinse area with plain water until all of the detergent is removed. If the stain persists, repeat steps 3 and 4 until it is completely gone.

Step 6: Dry Thoroughly

Pat the area dry with a clean cloth. If the stain is still visible, you may need to use a stain remover to get rid of it.

Conclusion

Cleaning coffee and tea stains from brocade can be tricky, but it’s not impossible. Follow steps above and you should be able to restore your fabric to its former glory.
