The first thing you want to do when dealing with coffee or tea stains is to blot the fabric with a damp cloth. This will help take out some of the stain and keep it from spreading. Be sure to avoid rubbing so that you don't cause the stain to spread further.
Once the stain is dry, apply a mild detergent, like a laundry pre-treatment spray, to the stain. Let the cleaner sit for a few minutes to allow it to penetrate the stain. Once done, use a brush to scrub the area in circular motions, being careful not to rub too hard and damage the fabric.
After scrubbing the stain, put your briefs in the washing machine and set it to a normal cycle. When the wash is finished, hang dry item if possible, as tumble drying can cause shrinkage and stiffness.
If the stain was particularly bad, you may need to repeat these steps once or twice for it to get completely removed. Remember to be gentle with your fabric and don't rub too hard, as this could damage the fabric further. With patience and care, you should be able to remove the coffee or tea stains from your briefs!
