When it comes to cleaning coffee and tea stains from appliances, the best approach is to use a mild cleaning solution. For most surfaces like stainless steel, a mix of water and baking soda can work wonders. Simply blend together 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 1 cup of warm water and apply paste to the affected area. Gently scrub away stain with a soft cloth or brush and then rinse with clean water.
White vinegar is also very effective in cleaning coffee and tea stains from appliances, although you should always use more water than vinegar. Start by mixing 1 part white vinegar to 4 parts warm water and apply the mixture to the stain. Allow it to sit for about 10 minutes before scrubbing away with a soft brush or cloth. After this, make sure to rinse the surface with clean water to remove any remaining residue.
If you're dealing with a particularly stubborn stain, then you may need to use a stronger cleaning solution. For things like countertops, backsplashes, or stoves, use a mix of 2 tablespoons of bleach per 1 gallon of water. Be sure to wear protective gloves and eyewear when using this solution. Apply the mixture to stained surface and scrub well. Afterwards, rinse off any residue and let the area air dry.
Finally, it's important to remember that there are certain surfaces and materials where these solutions may not be suitable. Cloth, wood, marble, and certain plastics are best to be cleaned with just plain water and a mild soap. Do a spot test on an inconspicuous area of the surface before using any of the above methods.
