Step 1: Wipe Away the Excess

The first step is to remove any excess chocolate from the fabric. Use a dull or butter knife to scrape away the excess chocolate. Do not use too much force or sharp tools as this could damage the delicate fabric.

Step 2: Test for Colorfastness

It is important to make sure that the fabric is colorfast before proceeding. To test this, mix some mild detergent with water and dab it on an inconspicuous spot. If the color does not fade or run, the fabric is safe to clean.

Step 3: Pre-Treat Stain

Mix a teaspoon of mild detergent with two cups of warm water. Dip a clean cloth or sponge into the solution, squeeze out the excess liquid, and dab the stained area. Be sure to work from the outside of the stain towards center so that the stain doesn't spread.

Step 4: Soak the Fabric

Submerge the stained area in the mild detergent solution and let it soak for 15-20 minutes. This will help loosen chocolate stains and make them easier to remove.

Step 5: Rinse and Dry

Rinse the fabric with cold water to remove the detergent solution. Gently press the fabric between a clean cloth or paper towel to absorb excess moisture. Finally, lay fabric flat on a clean surface and allow it to air dry.
