Instructions

  • Blot the stain with a damp cloth to absorb as much of the chocolate as possible.
  • Mix one teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent and one cup of cool water.
  • Dab the stain with the detergent solution and blot with a clean cloth.
  • If the stain persists, mix two tablespoons of white vinegar with two cups of warm water and dab the stain with the solution.
  • Allow the stained fabric to sit for up to 30 minutes before rinsing with cool water.
  • Apply laundry pre-treatment spray (if available), and then launder item according to the care instructions on the garment.
  • Check to see if the stain is fully removed before drying in the dryer.
  • If stain remains after laundering, soak the tshirt in a mixture of oxygen-based bleach and cool water for about half an hour.

Tips:

  • Always ensure that the fabric care label allows for the use of water, detergent or bleach before treating a stain.
  • Test the detergent solution on a small, hidden patch of the garment to ensure that it doesn't cause discoloration.
  • Never use hot water on chocolate or chocolate containing products as it will cause chocolate to set and become more difficult to remove.
