Steps for Removing Chocolate Stains from Your T-Shirt
- Dab at the stained area with a clean cloth or sponge to soak up as much of liquid as possible.
- If the chocolate has already hardened, scrape the excess off with a dull knife.
- Apply a small amount of laundry detergent directly to stain and let it sit for five minutes, then rinse with cold water.
- If stain is still visible, mix two tablespoons of baking soda and two cups of warm water and apply it to the stain. Let it sit for ten minutes, then rinse with cold water.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the stain is gone.
- Once the stain is gone, launder the item in the hottest water recommended on care label.
Additional Tips
- Always check the care label on your t-shirt before attempting to remove any type of stain. Certain types of fabric may require special cleaning products or methods.
- If fabric is colored, test any cleaning products you plan to use on a small hidden area of the fabric before using them.
- After you have removed the stain, line or air dry item to prevent further shrinkage.
