The first step in removing a chocolate stain is to pre-treat the area with a gentle detergent and warm water. Use a soft cloth or a Q-tip dipped in the detergent mix and blot the stained area, but be sure not to rub too hard as this can cause the chocolate to spread and make the stain worse. Let this sit for 5 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
A great way to remove chocolate from a sweatshirt is to use a combination of white vinegar and baking soda. Create a paste with equal parts of both ingredients, then apply to the stain and allow to sit for about 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water and repeat if necessary. If the stain still remains, try soaking the sweatshirt in cold water for an hour before treating again with the paste.
Rubbing alcohol can be used to remove tough chocolate stains from your sweatshirt. M ix one-part rubbing alcohol with two parts detergent, then apply to the stain using a clean cloth. Blot the area and repeat until the stain lifts. For stubborn stains, let the mixture sit on the fabric for 15 minutes before dabbing and rinsing with cold water.
If the chocolate stains on your sweatshirt are greasy, try using a commercial grease remover. Apply the cleaner to the stained area, then let it sit for several minutes before rinsing with cold water and repeating. If the stain still persists, try washing the sweatshirt in the hottest water it allows, with a heavy-duty detergent.
