First, grab a damp cloth or paper towel and gently blot the stained area, taking care not to spread the chocolate further. This will help to remove some of the excess chocolate. Be patient and don’t scrub too hard as this can cause the stain to go deeper into the material.
Next, take a small amount of mild liquid laundry detergent and dab it on the stain. Make sure detergent is completely dissolved in water before applying it to the fabric. Leave it for a few minutes to allow the detergent to soak up the chocolate.
Now, take a soft-bristled old toothbrush and scrub the stained area gently. This will help to loosen any remaining pieces of chocolate. Be sure to use circular motions to ensure all of the chocolate is removed.
Once you’ve finished scrubbing the stain with the toothbrush, rinse it with warm water and repeat the entire process once more, if necessary. Remember to use a mild liquid laundry detergent and take care not to scrub too hard.
If there are still traces of chocolate left after scrubbing and rinsing, try using a few drops of lemon juice. Apply the lemon juice to the stain and leave it for a few minutes before blotting it off with a damp cloth.
Once you’re satisfied that the stain has been removed, launder your sweatpants normally. You can also add a scoop of baking soda to the wash cycle to help get rid of any lingering odors.
Removing chocolate stains from sweatpants isn’t difficult if you know what to do. By following these simple steps, you should be able to get rid of the stain and restore your favorite pair of sweats.
