The first step is to carefully remove any excess chocolate from the fabric. Be sure to use a spoon or butter knife (or something similar) to scrape off the chocolate, being careful not to rub or push the chocolate too deep into fabric. If scraping isn’t enough, then use a damp cloth to blot away the remainder.
Once you have removed as much chocolate as possible, prepare a mild cleaning solution with lukewarm water and a few drops of gentle liquid soap (ideally a mild dish detergent). Mix the solution until it is sudsy and apply a small amount directly onto the stained area. Gently dab area with a soft cloth until the stain starts to lighten and then rinse the area thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Once the area is rinsed, you can use a sponge or clean soft cloth to gently blot away remaining stain. You can also try adding a small amount of white vinegar to the water and sponging the stained area for extra effect.
After sponging the area, rinse again using lukewarm water and dab with a dry cloth. Do not rub and work the area as this could damage fabric.
Once the area is dry, you can hang it up to air dry or lay it flat on a towel on top of another towel, ensuring it is not exposed to direct sunlight. After the fabric is dried, inspect area to make sure stain has been removed.
