Step 1: Gently Blot the Stain

The first step to getting rid of the chocolate stain is to gently blot it with a cloth or paper towel. Do not rub the stain as this can cause it to spread and become even more difficult to remove.

Step 2: Apply Soap

Dampen the stained area and apply a small amount of soap. A mild dishwashing liquid should do the trick. Rub the soap into the stain in a circular motion with your fingertips until it is fully incorporated.

Step 3: Use a Toothbrush

Once the soap has been worked into stain, use an old toothbrush to gently scrub the affected area. Make sure to use light pressure so that you don’t damage the fabric.

Step 4: Rinse the Stain

Rinse the stained area with cold water and make sure to remove all of the soap residue. If any of the soap is left behind, it could cause the chocolate stain to reappear later.

Step 5: Launder the Shorts

The final step is to launder the shorts as you normally would. Make sure to let them air dry, as a dryer's heat could cause the stain to set.
