Step 1: Act Quickly

When you've noticed the chocolate stain, act fast! The sooner you put it into action, the easier it will be to remove.

Step 2: Blot Up the Mess

Use a clean cloth or paper towel to blot the chocolate off the shirt. Gently press down until no more liquid appears on the fabric, and then pour cold water over the area.

Step 3: Get It Wet

Run cold water through the back of stain and let it soak for 5-10 minutes. This will help to loosen the dried-in chocolate.

Step 4: Pre-Treat Stain

Mix together a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid with two cups of warm water. Apply the mixture to the stain and allow it to sit for 10 minutes.

Step 5: Wash in the Washing Machine

Rinse off the pre-treatment completely before placing shirt in the washing machine. Set the cycle to gentle and use cold water.

Step 6: Check for Stains

Once it's finished washing, check for any remaining chocolate stains. Pretreat the stain once more and rewash if necessary.

The End Result

Cleaning chocolate stains from your shirt is easy with these six steps. With a little bit of patience and the right technique, you’ll get your shirt looking like new again!
