Step 1: Scrape Off Any Excess Chocolate

Carefully scrape off any excess chocolate from the robe using a spoon or dull knife. Be sure not to press down too hard as this can cause more of the chocolate to become embedded in the fabric.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Mix a solution of one tablespoon of liquid detergent and one teaspoon of white vinegar with two cups of warm water. Apply the mixture to the stained area of the robe and let it sit for 15 minutes before washing.

Step 3: Put the Garment in the Washer

Once the pre-treatment is complete, put the desired garment in the washer. Choose the “Normal” cycle and the warmest water setting that is safe for the fabric. Include one cup of white vinegar in the wash.

Step 4: Add Detergent and Bleach to the Wash Cycle

Add a high-efficiency laundry detergent and one-half cup of bleach to the wash cycle. After the cycle is complete, check the garment to see if any chocolate stain remains. If the stain is still visible, repeat the entire process.

Step 5: Inspect and Dry the Garment

Once the wash cycle is complete, inspect garment for any remaining chocolate stains. If the stain is still visible, you may need to repeat pre-treatment and wash process. If the chocolate stains have been removed, proceed to dry the garment. Avoid using direct heat as it could cause the chocolate stain to set in further.
