Chocolate contains fatty oils, which can damage the fibers in a rash guard if allowed to set in. It's best to remove the stain while it's still wet. If it has already dried, first use an ice cube to harden the residue before attempting to scrub it away.
What You'll Need
- Mild detergent
- Lukewarm water
- Soft cloth or brush
Instructions
- Gently rub mild detergent into the stained area with a soft cloth or brush.
- Wet the stained area with lukewarm water, and gently work the soapy residue into the fabric for about two minutes.
- Next, blot area with a clean cloth to remove the soap and chocolate residue.
- Rinse the area thoroughly with lukewarm water and gently blot to remove excess moisture.
- Allow the rash guard to air dry before wearing.
Additional Tips
- Always check the garment's care label before treating any stain.
- If the stain still remains after the above steps, make a paste of baking soda and water, and apply it directly to the stain. Allow it to sit for fifteen minutes before washing as usual -- this should help loosen the residue and lift the stain.
- Regularly washing your rash guard with a mild detergent will help keep it looking its best.
