If the chocolate stain is still fresh, act quickly. Blot up as much of the chocolate as possible with a clean, dry cloth. As you blot, make sure to work from the outside edge of the stain to inside to prevent it from spreading. Next, apply a bit of liquid laundry detergent directly to the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes, then dab away with a damp cloth. Finally, rinse the area with cold water and allow the raincoat to air dry.
If the chocolate stain has already dried, begin by scraping off any excess chocolate with a butter knife. Then mix up a paste of equal parts dish soap, baking soda, and hydrogen peroxide. Apply the paste directly to the stain and let it sit until it dries. Finally, brush off the paste and rinse the area with cold water. Hang the raincoat up to air-dry.
