Materials Needed
- Bowl
- Warm water
- Mild detergent or dish soap
- White vinegar
- Soft sponge
- Soft cloth
Instructions
- Create the cleaning solution. Measure 1/4 cup of mild detergent or dish soap and two cups of warm water in the bowl. Mix gently until suds form.
- Apply the solution. Dip a soft sponge into the warm cleaning solution and gently rub it on the stain. Try not to rub too hard, as doing so could push the stain further into the fabric.
- Rinse the area. Dip a soft cloth in clean, cool water and use it to rinse the area. Keep rinsing and blotting until there’s no suds visible.
- Repeat. Repeat the above steps if any evidence of the stain remains.
- Treat tough spots. For any remaining tough spots, mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of warm water. Soak a soft cloth in the solution and lay it over spot for 10 minutes. Blot the area with damp cloth and then rinse the area with cool water until the vinegar smell is gone.
Tips & Tricks
- Be sure to test a small, hidden area of fabric before treating the whole garment, as different cleaning solutions can affect the material.
- For best results, treat stains as soon as possible. The longer a stain sits, harder it will be to remove.
