Removing chocolate stains from a midi dress is easier if the stain is still fresh. As soon as you notice a chocolate stain on dress, start treating it right away. The longer a stain stays, the more difficult it becomes to remove it.
Before attempting to treat stain, you’ll want to blot the stained area with a clean dry cloth first. Blotting helps remove excess chocolate from the fabric and prevent the stain from spreading further. Do not rub or scrub fabric as this could damage it.
Once you have blotted the stain, the next step is to pre-treat the stained area. You can do this either by using a liquid laundry detergent like Tide or a stain remover like Shout. Apply enough product to fully saturate the stained area and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes.
Once the pre-treatment is done, you can now wash the midi dress in a washing machine. Make sure to follow the care instructions on the label to determine the ideal temperature and cycle setting. After washing it, inspect the dress to make sure that the chocolate stain has been completely removed. If not, repeat steps 2-4 until it has been completely removed.
