What You'll Need

  • Cold water
  • Paper towels or absorbent cloths
  • Mild detergent or liquid laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Clean cloths

Instructions

  1. Using cold water, rinse out the stain on the maxi dress. Blot the fabric with a paper towel or an absorbent cloth to remove as much of the chocolate as possible.
  2. Mix a small amount of mild detergent or liquid laundry detergent with lukewarm water. If the stain persists after rinsing, apply this mixture directly to the stain.
  3. Let mixture sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing out with cold water. Blot with a paper towel or an absorbent cloth to remove as much of the detergent mixture as possible.
  4. If the stain is still present, mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts water. Soak a clean cloth in the mixture and use it to gently dab at stain. Avoid rubbing the fabric, as this can cause damage.
  5. Once the stain is gone, rinse the dress with cold water and blot with an absorbent cloth to remove residual moisture. Air dry the garment, avoiding direct sunlight, or tumble dry on a low-heat setting.
