Marcella is an exquisite and luxurious fabric that is often used for making clothing items such as blouses and dresses. Unfortunately, its delicate nature also means it's prone to chocolate stains. Don't panic--removing chocolate stains from Marcella fabric is possible with the right technique!
Materials Needed
- Cleaning towels or cloths
- Warm water
- Mild detergent
- White vinegar
- Spray bottle
- Toothbrush
- Natural soap bar
Directions
- As soon as you realize there's a chocolate stain on your Marcella fabric, immediately blot the area with a dry cleaning towel to absorb as much of the chocolate as possible.
- Create a mixture of mild detergent and warm water in a bowl, and use a clean cloth or sponge to dab the mixture onto the stain. It's important not to rub or scrub fabric, as this can make the stain worse.
- If the stain is still visible after applying the detergent-water mixture, mix white vinegar and warm water in a spray bottle. Lightly spritz the stained area with the mixture, and use a soft brush (like a toothbrush) to gently scrub the liquid into the fabric's fibers.
- If the stain has not yet faded, create a lather from natural soap and warm water, and use a cloth or sponge to dab the lather onto the fabric until the stain is no longer visible.
- Once the stain has been removed, rinse the detergent, soap and vinegar residue out of the fabric with cool water.
- The final step is to hang the cloth up to air dry.
