Cleaning chocolate stains from linen is far easier than you may think! To get started, you will need to gather a few supplies: white cloths or towels, dishwashing soap, hydrogen peroxide, a soft brush, and white vinegar.
It’s essential that you clean up any excess chocolate from the material before you begin treating the stain. Use a white cloth or paper towel and simply blot the area, making sure not to rub or scrub the stain as this could spread it further.
Put some dishwashing soap directly onto the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with clean water. Be sure to check the label of your dishwashing soap to make sure there are no bleach or bleaching agents present, as this could damage the fabric.
Hydrogen peroxide is great for removing tough stains from fabric. Simply pour some directly onto the spot, let it sit for 15-20 minutes, and then blot with a clean cloth or paper towel.
Using a soft-bristled brush, gently remove any leftover particles and debris from the area. Be sure to go slowly and make sure not to press too hard, as this could damage the fabric.
To ensure that all traces of the stain are gone, rinse the area with a mixture of white vinegar and water. This should help to lift any remaining residue and should also help to prevent any future staining.
Cleaning chocolate stains from linen doesn't have to be complicated or time consuming. With the right supplies and the steps outlined above, you can have your linen looking good as new in no time.
