The first step to removing chocolate stains is to pre-treat the stain. Start by blotting the area with a clean cloth or sponge to get rid of any excess chocolate. Be sure not to rub stain, as this could spread it and make it harder to remove. After blotting, gently brush the stained area with a soft-bristled brush. This will help loosen any dried-on chocolate.
To get rid of the chocolate stain, make a cleaning solution with equal parts liquid dish soap and white vinegar. Mix the two together in a spray bottle and shake to combine. Spray the solution directly onto the affected area and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes. This will give the solution time to break down the stain.
Once the solution has had a chance to work, rinse it off with cold water. After rinsing, make sure to check the stain to make sure it's gone. If the stain is still visible, you may need to repeat steps 2 and 3. Continue repeating until the stain is completely gone. Once the stain is gone, launder the lace as usual.
Removing chocolate stains from lace doesn't have to be a difficult task. With the right cleaning supplies and techniques, you can easily get rid of those pesky chocolate stains without damaging the fabric. Follow the steps above for best results.
