Using a clean cloth or paper towel, remove as much of the excess chocolate from the surface of the shoes as possible. Avoid rubbing the stain, as this could push it further into the fabric. If chocolate is already dry, moisten area with a damp cloth.
Mix a tablespoon of mild liquid dish soap with ¼ cup of baking soda to form a paste. Alternatively, you can use commercial laundry pretreatment instead of dish soap. Apply the paste directly onto the stained area and let it sit for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, rinse the paste off the shoes with a damp cloth. After removing the paste, let the shoes air dry at room temperature. To speed up the drying process, turn on a fan or rotate the shoes so that both sides dry evenly.
