Habutai fabric is a lightweight silk made in Japan. It's used for making kimonos, gowns and other delicate clothing, as well as home furnishings, such as curtains, bedding and upholstery.
As soon as you notice stain, take a white cloth or sponge and blot the affected area to absorb as much of the chocolate as possible. Do not rub, as this may spread the stain further.
Mix a small amount of mild soap in cold water, and apply it to the stain using the same cloth or sponge used for blotting. Let it sit for about 15 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
Mix one teaspoon of white vinegar with one cup of warm water in a clean container. Dip a cloth or sponge into the solution and apply it to the stained area. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
Sprinkle some baking soda onto the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then, brush off baking soda, and repeat the process if necessary.
For a final step, launder the fabric according to care instructions provided. If the stain is still visible, try adding a pre-treatment stain remover or some liquid detergent directly to the stain before laundering.
By following these simple steps, you can easily remove chocolate stains from Habutai fabric. Just make sure to test any cleaning solutions on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric first in order to avoid damaging the material.
