Having a chocolatey treat is one of life's great pleasures, but not when result is an unsightly stain on your favourite furniture. Thankfully, getting rid of chocolate stains from upholstery and other material doesn't have to be complicated. With this simple guide, you can restore your furniture to its former glory in no time.
Using a spoon or knife, scrape away any solid pieces of chocolate that remain. Be careful not to rub the chocolate deeper into fabric, as this will only make stain harder to remove. Be sure to also check the back and sides of the furniture, as pieces of chocolate may be stuck in creases.
Using a clean damp cloth, begin to blot the area where the chocolate was. Work from the edges of the stain towards the centre, being sure not to scrub or rub fabric as this could push the stain further in.
Once all the solid pieces have been removed, you can use a spot cleaner to finish up job. If you don't have a spot cleaner, you can mix together a tablespoon of mild detergent with two cups of warm water and use a sponge or cloth to apply it to the stain. Be sure to rinse the area thoroughly afterwards with cold water, and then dab the area with a dry cloth until it is dry.
Getting rid of chocolate stains from furniture doesn't have to be daunting. With these three simple steps, you can eliminate the stain quickly and easily. And remember, sooner you act, the better chances of success.
