The first step to removing chocolate stains from fleece is to scrape off any excess chocolate that may still be on the material. This is especially important if the chocolate has already hardened, as it can be difficult to dissolve. Use a butter knife, spoon or other flat, dull tool to gently scrape off the chocolate.
Once all of the excess chocolate has been removed, it's time to apply a stain remover. Choose an enzymatic cleaner specifically designed for removing chocolate stains from fabrics. Make sure to follow instructions on the package carefully. Apply the solution directly to the stain and let it sit for several minutes before blotting with a damp cloth.
Once stain remover has been applied and the stain has been blotted, place the fleece item in the washing machine. Select the cold water setting and a gentle cycle. Add a mild detergent or laundry soap and let the machine do its work. When the cycle is complete, hang garment up to air dry or tumble dry on low heat.
