Step 1: Blot the Stain

The first step to removing a chocolate stain is to gently blot the spot with a tissue or paper towel. Gently press the tissue down over the stain and lift it back up, repeating this process until the spot is no longer transferring onto tissue.

Step 2: Apply Detergent

Once spot has been blotted and is no longer transferring, you can apply a small amount of detergent directly to the stain. Work the detergent into stain using a soft cloth, rubbing gently in a circular motion until the stain has been completely absorbed by the cloth.

Step 3: Sponge With Water

Once the stain is gone, use a slightly damp sponge to clean the area where the detergent was applied. The goal is to rinse away any remaining detergent residue, which can discolor the fabric if left on for too long. Once the area is dry, your espadrilles should be good as new!
