Removing Fresh Chocolate Stains from Double Georgette

To tackle fresh stains, the first step is to try to gently scrape off as much of chocolate as possible with a spoon. Then try using cold water and a soft brush or sponge to dab off the stain. Do not rub or scrub the garment as this will damage the fabric. If the stain still persists, you can use a specialist dry-cleaning solvent to further remove the stain.

Treating Older Chocolate Stains on Double Georgette

For older stains, start by blotting the affected area with a damp cloth to try to lift some of the stain out. You can then mix a solution of water and mild detergent and apply it to the stain, making sure to avoid rubbing or scrubbing the fabric. Leave the solution to soak in for up to an hour and then rinse it off with cold water. Finally, you can use a mild vinegar solution to help neutralise any lingering odours.

Caring for Your Double Georgette Garment

In general, double georgette should always be washed separately in cold water and line dried flat. To avoid shrinkage, use only a mild detergent, and avoid using any chlorine bleach or fabric softeners. Keeping these tips in mind can help you keep your double georgette garment looking new.
