Before you start cleaning your fabric, blot the stain with a paper towel or cloth. If the stain is still wet, use a clean cloth to help absorb the chocolate before it sets in further.
Mix a few drops of liquid laundry detergent into some warm water. Use a clean cloth or sponge to apply the solution to stained area. Use circular motions to work the solution into the fabric, but do not rub too hard. Allow the solution to sit for a few minutes before moving on to the next step.
Once you’ve applied the detergent solution, rinse it out by running cold water over the stained area until all the suds are gone. Make sure you only use cold water, as hot water may set the stain.
In a separate bowl, mix one cup of white vinegar with two cups of cold water. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and dab the stain gently. Once you’ve covered the entire stain, let the vinegar solution sit for three to five minutes before rinsing it away with cold water.
Once the stain has been completely removed, launder the cotton voile as you normally would. Use the hottest water temperature recommended for the fabric and add a small amount of color-safe bleach. This will help to ensure that any remaining stain particles are removed.
Removing chocolate stains from cotton voile doesn’t have to be a daunting task. By following the steps outlined above, you can easily and safely get rid of unwanted chocolate stains from your fabric in no time.
