If you happen to have chocolate stains on your favorite cotton canvas material items, don’t worry! You can easily remove them following these steps:

  1. Moisten stained area with lukewarm water.
  2. Mix together some liquid laundry detergent and a small amount of cool water in a bowl.
  3. Sponge the chocolate stain with the detergent solution. Make sure to gently dab at area instead of rubbing it, as friction could worsen the stain.
  4. Rinse the area with room temperature water, and then blot it dry with a clean towel or cloth.
  5. If the stain persists, mix together one part white vinegar and two parts cool water, and apply it to the stain with a clean cloth. Blot the area until it is almost dry.
  6. Once the area is mostly dry, apply a few drops of mild dishwashing liquid directly onto the stained area. Rub the surface gently in a circular motion with a soft-bristled brush.
  7. Rinse the area with cool water, and then blot it dry with a clean cloth.
  8. Let the area air-dry completely.
  9. Once area is dry, inspect it for any remaining stains.
  10. If the stain is still present, repeat steps 1-9 until all traces of the stain are gone.
