Carrickmacross lace is an intricate and beautiful type of Irish lace. It is ideal for use in gowns, curtains, cushions, wedding decorations, and other projects. However, if you have accidentally spilled chocolate on your lace, don’t despair – it can be carefully washed and cleaned without damaging delicate fabric.

The first step in removing chocolate stains from Carrickmacross lace is to blot stained areas with a paper towel or cloth to absorb as much of chocolate as possible. Do not rub the chocolate into the lace, as this can cause it to spread further. Next, rinse the lace in cold water, being careful not to rub or scrub the fabric.
Once the lace has been rinsed, it can be soaked in a mixture of tepid water and a mild, color-safe detergent for about 10 minutes. After the soaking time is over, rinse lace thoroughly in cold water and allow it to air dry. Never put Carrickmacross lace in the dryer, as this can damage its delicate threads.
If the chocolate stain cannot be removed through these steps, you can use a cleaning solution that is specially designed for delicate fabrics. Be sure to test the solution in an inconspicuous spot to make sure it won't cause discoloration before using it on the entire piece of lace. Then, apply the solution directly to stained area and allow it to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. Again, be sure to rinse thoroughly in cold water and allow to air dry.
Following these instructions will help keep your Carrickmacross lace looking its best!
