If you’ve ever been eating chocolate while wearing your favorite cargo pants, you’ve probably discovered that getting rid of the residue and stain it leaves behind can be difficult. Fortunately, with a few simple steps, you can get rid of these tough stains for good.

Step 1: Blot Excess Chocolate

The first step to removing chocolate from your cargo pants is to blot away as much of the excess chocolate as possible. You can use a paper towel to do this. Blot in an up and down motion, never rubbing the chocolate into the material of your pants.

Step 2: Pre-Treat with Stain Remover

After blotting the stain, it’s time to pre-treat the area with a stain remover. Be sure to carefully read instructions on the product and follow them. Apply a liberal amount of stain remover to the stained area and let it sit for 5-10 minutes to give it time to work.

Step 3: Wash Pants

Once the pre-treatment has had a chance to work its magic, it’s time to stick the cargo pants in the washing machine. Set the machine to a cold setting because chocolate stains are easier to remove when dealt with cold water. Additionally, add a scoop of detergent to the washing cycle.

Step 4: Dry Pants

Finally, Once the cycle is complete, transfer the cargo pants to the dryer. Once again, set machine to a cold setting and make sure to periodically check on the cargo pants to ensure they don’t overheat. When done, you should have a pair of cargo pants free of chocolate stains!
