It’s important to treat chocolate stains as quickly as possible. The longer the stain is left without treatment, the harder it will be to remove. Start by blotting up as much of the excess moisture as you can using a dry white cloth or paper towels.
After blotting the stain, pre-treat it with a liquid detergent such as Persil or Tide. Make sure to use a detergent specifically designed for fabrics – don’t use a dishwashing detergent, as this could damage the fabric. Use an old toothbrush to work the detergent into the stain and then rinse with warm water.
If the stain remains after pre-treatment, you can try using an oxi-cleansing agent such as OxiClean or Biz. Again, use an old toothbrush to work cleanser into the stain and then rinse with warm water before allowing fabric to air dry.
If the stain persists after using an oxi-cleansing agent, you can repeat above steps. You may need to repeat the process several times before the stain is completely gone. If the stain is still not removed after trying these steps, you may need to consult a professional cleaner.
Removing chocolate stains from calico doesn’t have to be complicated. With these steps, you can easily remove stain and have your fabric looking like new in no time. Good luck!
