When chocolate stains find their way onto your favourite blouse, it can be really discouraging. Plus, chocolate is one of stubbornest kinds of stains and could be next to impossible to get out without the right techniques. To save you from disappointment, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to remove chocolate stains from your blouse:
The first step is to scrape away any excess chocolate that didn't get absorbed. Use a dull knife or a spoon and start scraping away in the same direction that the fabric has been pulled. Be careful not to use too much force or else the fabric will tear.
Once excess chocolate has been removed, you need to apply a pre-treatment. The pre-treatment should be applied according to the instructions on the packaging, usually with a clean cloth or paper towel. It is important to use the correct pre-treatment, because if you use one that is too harsh, it could end up ruining the fabric.
After pre-treatment has been applied, you should use a liquid detergent to wash blouse. Make sure to use enough detergent to completely cover the stain. Massage the detergent into stain for a few minutes and then rinse it off with cold water.
If after washing blouse the stain is still visible, apply a spot treatment to lift remaining residue. Allow the spot treatment to sit on the stain for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
Finally, air dry your blouse and take a look at the result. Hopefully, your blouse is now free of the chocolate stain. If not, repeat the process until you are satisfied with the results.
