Step 1: Blot Up Excess Chocolate

As soon as you notice a chocolate stain, grab a paper towel or clean cloth and press it against the area to absorb any excess chocolate. Do not rub stain! This will only make the stain worse.

Step 2: Use Water and Soap

Fill a bucket or bowl with warm water and a few drops of liquid dish soap. Dip a cloth into the bucket/bowl and squeeze out excess liquid. Dab stain with the cloth to remove chocolate residue

Step 3: Apply Detergent

If the stain doesn't come out with the water and soap, you can try a stronger solution. Mix a few drops of liquid laundry detergent with some warm water. Soak a soft cloth in the mixture and dab stain lightly.

Step 4: Try a Mild Household Cleaner

For tougher stains, you can try a mild household cleaner. Apply a small amount to the stained area, being careful not to get any on the surrounding surfaces. Let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe off with a damp cloth.

Step 5: Rinse Off the Cleaner

Once you have applied the cleaner, rinse the surface off with a damp cloth. Be sure to use a damp cloth instead of a wet one, which could cause the cleaner to spread.

Additional Tips

  • Always try least harsh method first before moving on to harsher solutions.
  • Be sure to test any cleaning solutions on a small, inconspicuous spot first to make sure they won't damage the surface.
  • Never mix different types of cleaners. This could result in hazardous fumes.
