What You'll Need
- Dish washing liquid
- Soft cloth or sponge
- Mild abrasive cleaner
- Soft bristle brush
- Plastic wrap
Steps to Remove Chocolate Stains from Acrylic
- Start by blotting up any excess melted chocolate with a clean cloth or paper towel. Make sure to dab the chocolate and not rub it to avoid spreading it further.
- Mix a small amount of dish soap with warm water and dip a cloth or sponge into the mixture. Gently scrub the stained area in a circular motion.
- If the stain persists, try a mild abrasive cleaner like baking soda, cream of tartar, or toothpaste. Use a soft bristle brush to gently scrub the stained area.
- Once the stain has been removed, rinse the area thoroughly with warm water and pat dry with a clean cloth.
- To prevent any remaining stain from setting back in, cover the area with a few layers of plastic wrap and leave it to dry.
Additional Tips
- It is important to act quickly when removing chocolate stains as they can set in if left for too long.
- Be sure to use gentle products and motions when cleaning acrylic surfaces to avoid scratching.
- Always test cleaning products on an inconspicuous area before using on the stained surface.
