Things You Will Need

  • Cotton swabs
  • Detergent
  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar
  • Soft cloth

Step 1: Blot Stain

When a chocolate stain happens, the first step is to blot the stain with a soft, white cloth. This will absorb the excess liquid and should prevent the stain from seeping in too deeply. Be careful not to rub the cloth into the fabric too aggressively as this could cause it to further penetrate the fabric.

Step 2: Apply Detergent Directly to the Stain

Once the excess liquid has been blotted up, apply some detergent directly to the stain. Use a cotton swab to work detergent into the fabric, gently rubbing in a circular motion. Allow the detergent to sit on the stain for a few minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.

Step 3: Create a Baking Soda Paste

After rinsing off the detergent, create a paste using baking soda and white vinegar. Be sure to mix the two ingredients together until a thick paste has formed. Once ready, apply the paste to the stained area. Allow it to sit for several minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.

Step 4: Repeat As Necessary

If the stain is still visible after the baking soda paste has been rinsed off, repeat steps 2 and 3 as necessary until stain has completely disappeared. Once the stain is gone, go over the area again with a damp cloth to remove any residue. Allow the area to air dry completely before wearing or using the accessory again.
